Frequently Asked Questions

What does the leadership program develop?

Participants develop public speaking skills, community organizing, mental health first aid certification, project management, servant leadership principles, and deep personal faith formation.

Do participants need prior leadership experience?

No. Many of our strongest leaders started with no formal experience. We look for heart, character, and desire to make a difference — not a résumé.

What do participants do with their leadership skills?

Graduates have led youth mental health awareness events, created school mental health clubs, spoken at churches, organized community fundraisers, and mentored younger children in Ikon Kids programs.

Is this a paid position?

No — but participants may earn community service hours, leadership references, and scholarship letters. Several graduates have received college scholarships highlighting their Ikon Kids leadership.

How much time does the program require?

Approximately 4–6 hours per month for workshops, 2–4 hours per month for service projects, and flexible mentorship meetings. Schedule is designed to work around school commitments.

Is there a faith requirement to participate?

Participants should be open to faith-based mentorship and the mission of Ikon Kids. Active Christian faith is encouraged but not required for admission.
