Bringing Mental Health Support Into Houston Classrooms
Ikon Kids partners directly with schools to bring mental health education, counselor consultation, classroom workshops, and student support into the educational environment. In public schools, we deliver all content in a secular, clinically appropriate format. Faith is not discussed in school settings unless the school is a Christian institution. All content meets ASCA (American School Counselor Association) standards.
Age-appropriate 30–45 minute workshops on topics like: emotional vocabulary, coping strategies, how to get help when you’re struggling, friendship and conflict resolution, and mental health stigma reduction.
Teachers receive training in recognizing signs of childhood mental health challenges, de-escalation techniques, trauma-informed classroom practices, and referral protocols. This reduces teacher burnout and improves student outcomes.
Many school partnerships are provided at no cost through Ikon Kids’ donor funding. Schools in underserved communities are prioritized for fully-funded partnerships. Contact us to discuss your school’s situation.
