Immigrant and refugee children often experience displacement trauma, grief for home and relationships left behind, acculturation stress (navigating between two cultures), social isolation, language-related academic challenges, and sometimes family separation trauma.
We have bilingual counselors who work with Spanish-speaking families. Additional language support is coordinated through interpreter services for other languages.
Ikon Kids does not require or ask about immigration status. All children are welcome, regardless of documentation. We are a safe, non-reporting environment.
Many immigrant and refugee families hold deep Christian faith as their anchor. We honor and integrate faith practices, including prayer in the family’s language, scripture relevant to displacement and hope, and connection to local faith communities.
We are not immigration attorneys, but we maintain referral relationships with reputable immigration legal aid organizations and can connect families with appropriate resources.
Yes. We actively partner with refugee resettlement agencies, immigrant services organizations, churches serving immigrant populations, and international student groups.
Every child and family deserves care, hope, and healing. Ikon Kids is here.
