Ikon Kids’ Grief & Loss Support Program provides specialized care for children and teens who have experienced the death of a loved one, divorce, loss of a relationship, or other significant losses. Our faith-based approach helps children process grief in healthy ways, find meaning, and reconnect with hope.

Once enrolled, you’ll receive your schedule, location details, and a welcome packet.
Parents and children attend a brief orientation session to meet the counselor and set expectations.
Your child begins their healing journey. Progress check-ins are scheduled at weeks 2, 4, and 8.
We support children grieving the death of a parent, sibling, grandparent, or friend; parental divorce or separation; significant relationship loss; pet loss; and community tragedy.
We serve children from age 5. For children under 8, a parent or caregiver participation component is included. Teens (14–18) have their own dedicated cohort.
Faith provides language for loss, comfort in scripture, community support, and hope for eternal reunion. Our counselors offer these resources gently, meeting each child where they are.
Children often mask or delay grief. Behavioral changes, academic decline, withdrawal, or irritability can all be expressions of unprocessed grief. An assessment with our counselor can help determine if the program is appropriate.
Yes. All grief programs are facilitated by licensed grief counselors with specialized training in childhood bereavement and trauma.
Select sessions are available via secure video conference for families outside Houston or with mobility limitations.
